At what time is the class? in Spanish

Content

Let’s see a very important expression in Spanish, as well as in English – At what time is it? -. It is the moment of giving points in time; first of all, let’s see a new time preposition:

INGLÉS

ESPAÑOL

AT

A

Therefore:

¿A QUÉ HORA ES LA CLASE?

AT WHAT TIME IS THE CLASS?

2:00  PM

LA CLASE ES A LAS DOS

THE CLASS IS AT THE TWO

(The class is at two)

◊ Note:

  1. A; the preposition AT expresses the occurring point of time of any activity.

LA CLASE DE ESPAÑOL; –The class of Spanish– ,ergo, -The Spanish class-, is the way that Spaniards use to build the expression when using two nouns that are connected, one with another. First of all, we must say that ESPAÑOL is an adjective that in this case, can work grammatically as a noun.

Let’s repeat it again now with the preposition -AT- already explained:

¿A QUÉ HORA ES LA CENA?

AT WHAT TIME IS THE DINNER?

7:00  PM

LA CENA ES A LAS SIETE

THE DINNER IS AT THE SEVEN

(The dinner is at seven)

Once again:

¿A QUÉ HORA ES LA PELÍCULA?

AT WHAT TIME IS THE MOVIE?

10:00  PM

LA PELÍCULA ES A LAS DIEZ

THE MOVIE IS AT THE TEN

(The movie is at ten)
